Here's a sweet time-lapse video of the making of a Macworld Magazine cover. It's interesting to see every stage of the process and it shines light on how simply something like this is achieved. I'm especially fond of the video because the photography portion is almost identical to my days as a photographic intern for Mark Burstyn. The average day with Mark literally looked exactly like that so it's pretty cool that methods are generally the same no matter what level you're at. Mark even has the same giant camera stand.
