I think it looks awesome. Here's why:<br /><br />1. Robert Downey Jr. is hilarious<br />2. Sam Rockwell is in it<br />3. Scarlett Johansson is in it<br />4. Don Cheadle replaced Terrence Howard<br /><br />I'm also a big fan of the fact that his secret identity isn't secret. It's a refreshing addition to all the super-hero movies of late. Now as soon as we can drop the use of the song 'Iron Man', this movie will be perfect.<br /><object width="598" height="288"><param name="movie" value="http://media2.firstshowing.net/firstshowing/flv-embed/flvplayer.swf"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"></param><param name="flashvars" value="width=598&height=288&file=http://media2.firstshowing.net/firstshowing/ironman2-firsttrailer-hq.flv&image=http://media2.firstshowing.net/firstshowing/ironman2-firsttrailer-hq.jpg&logo=http://media2.firstshowing.net/firstshowing/img/FSnet-Video-Logo.png&link=http://www.firstshowing.net&stretching=fill&quality=false&bufferlength=6&volume=90"></param><br /> <embed src="http://media2.firstshowing.net/firstshowing/flv-embed/flvplayer.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="400" height="200" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="width=400&height=200&file=http://media2.firstshowing.net/firstshowing/ironman2-firsttrailer-hq.flv&image=http://media2.firstshowing.net/firstshowing/ironman2-firsttrailer-hq.jpg&logo=http://media2.firstshowing.net/firstshowing/img/FSnet-Video-Logo.png&link=http://www.firstshowing.net&stretching=fill&quality=false&bufferlength=6&volume=90" /><br /></object></embed><br />I have no comment on this gold-toothed, laser-whipping, Russian Mickey Rourke.Rory Sylvesterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06741216149609978059noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3421884975111188035.post-54694704907636619892009-12-17T08:49:00.000-08:002009-12-17T09:02:06.986-08:00The Bucks Hire Actors to Cheer for Them<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGhXQDKUuLuVMw5GiBRwojRLdl9vuR5tT6mAEe2NfFxYEMov7__XRAuZobGve_mNz4NyFsuyTKPTpjg8Dyg1F_Nz6FKBtV90CwX0AkMaXzptwlfv9CqHYZKq6Vc8YYhQzYD-JAWhSE4xk/s1600-h/120309-bogut-inside2.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 238px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGhXQDKUuLuVMw5GiBRwojRLdl9vuR5tT6mAEe2NfFxYEMov7__XRAuZobGve_mNz4NyFsuyTKPTpjg8Dyg1F_Nz6FKBtV90CwX0AkMaXzptwlfv9CqHYZKq6Vc8YYhQzYD-JAWhSE4xk/s400/120309-bogut-inside2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5416248877515792882" /></a>Milwaukee Bucks big-man Andrew Bogut will be purchasing 100 seats in the lower bowl for every home game this season for fans who are willing to make asses of themselves:<br /><br />"I saw a couple of fans in Houston singing and stuff,'' Bogut said of why he decided to form Squad 6. "I wanted to do something for the atmosphere at the Bradley Center. So we had auditions. It was basically the crazier and louder you are, the more of a chance you had of getting free tickets. ... But, if you're in the squad and somebody sees you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing, you don't get tickets for the next game.''<br /><br />I think Bogut is a genius for doing this because there's nothing better than a badass home crowd, with the exception of the Boston Celtics. It reminds me of the gang with cowbells in Sacramento in the early 2000's. On the other hand, it is pretty much the same as hiring actors to play the role of fans for your team. They held auditions, they have wardrobe requirements (Bucks-wear), and they have an agreement that if you don't do your part, you're replaced. I guess the fear of being kicked out of 'Squad 6' is what makes the fans so crazy. Apparently they would sing 'Dude Looks Like a Lady' every time Joakim Noah touched the ball last time the Bulls were in town. Kinda funny.<br /><br />Good for you Milwaukee, you've pushed back the sale of your team by at least a year.Rory Sylvesterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06741216149609978059noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3421884975111188035.post-48922862147453122592009-12-17T08:43:00.000-08:002009-12-17T08:45:56.636-08:00Everyone's Happy!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiXvSI1vmR1mREZInetGfVjUcBImYX-WDItHEkJdhyphenhyphenRuZTofi6OROvgU5neuSjN1l64hV6XRIDijjJ6MbFRnqYKaDOSjeC5Ph8bclSP7v_0wK_XSk-Fm31mL7bzTKvMMSBX4d9kZTl-E0/s1600-h/4+Thumbs+Up.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 265px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiXvSI1vmR1mREZInetGfVjUcBImYX-WDItHEkJdhyphenhyphenRuZTofi6OROvgU5neuSjN1l64hV6XRIDijjJ6MbFRnqYKaDOSjeC5Ph8bclSP7v_0wK_XSk-Fm31mL7bzTKvMMSBX4d9kZTl-E0/s400/4+Thumbs+Up.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5416246922204232594" /></a><br />...because they heard Focus Interruptus is back!Rory Sylvesterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06741216149609978059noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3421884975111188035.post-40719887068274323792009-10-26T11:46:00.000-07:002009-10-26T11:55:56.466-07:00So, Jaws is Real.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://scrapetv.com/News/News%20Pages/Science/images-2/jaws-universal-tour.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 323px;" src="http://scrapetv.com/News/News%20Pages/Science/images-2/jaws-universal-tour.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a>Here's a video proving the existence of Jaws. He added:<br /><br /><span style="font-style:italic;">“Kill Bill 3 will probably come out, I gotta wait a couple of years, but I want ten years to pass from the second one to the third one.” </span><br /><br />Kill Bill Vol.1 came out in 2003 so that means he may make the third one in 2013. Why ten years you ask? QT explains:<br /><span style="font-style:italic;"><br />“Two reasons. One, I think me and Uma needed a ten year break. And the second one, I loved the character a lot. I think she deserved ten years to relax. She deserved ten years of no fighting, she deserved ten years with her child Bebe, just of peace. I put her through a lot those first two movies, I want her to have a nice, peaceful life for ten years. I want her to set up her store, and have some peace. But after ten years we’ll make her fight again.” </span><br /><br />Do you remember in Kill Bill Vol.1 when Bill calls Elle Driver at the moment she's about to euthanize the comatose Bride? Here's his speech, it's pretty similar reasoning to the previous quote, I think.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight:bold;">Elle:</span><br /> <span style="font-style:italic;">Speak.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-weight:bold;">Bill:</span> <br /><span style="font-style:italic;">Y'all beat the hell out of that woman, but you didn't kill her. And I put a bullet in her head, but her heart just kept on beatin'. Now, you saw that yourself with your own beautiful blue eye, did you not? We've done a lot of things to this lady. And if she ever wakes up, we'll do a whole lot more. But one thing we won't do is sneak into her room in the night like a filthy rat and kill her in her sleep. And the reason we won't do that thing is because... that thing would lower us. Don't you agree, Miss Driver?</span><br /><br /><span style="font-weight:bold;">Elle:</span><br /><span style="font-style:italic;"> I guess. </span><br /><br />It's basically the same theme of respecting the person enough to give them a break but holding true to your word. What's interesting is that this logic was used when speaking about both a friendship, QT and Uma, and an adversaryship, Bill and Bride. <br /><br />I need to go back to school and write some essays...<br /><br />KILL BILL VOL.3!Rory Sylvesterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06741216149609978059noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3421884975111188035.post-77839104672002625012009-10-01T15:52:00.000-07:002009-10-01T16:04:29.737-07:00Glenn Beck TheatreWelcome all to Glenn Beck Theatre. <br /><br />Today's Feature: Logic<br /><object width="400" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zEuAVgmWt0U&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zEuAVgmWt0U&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="400" height="344"></embed></object><br /><br />Thank you for joining this evening for Glenn Beck Theatre.<br /><br />See you next time.Rory Sylvesterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06741216149609978059noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3421884975111188035.post-56940686831559411002009-10-01T12:54:00.000-07:002009-10-01T12:57:44.196-07:00Song of the Day #19<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/_/2787917/The+Rifles++in+Tokio.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 350px;" src="http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/_/2787917/The+Rifles++in+Tokio.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a>This is 'She's got Standards' by The Rifles. He staked out a few locations in downtown New York and shot hundreds of shots of people passing by. He then picked out people with similar characteristics, like wearing red, yawning, or carrying a yellow envelope, and photoshopped only those people into the image. For instance, everyone in the 'wearing red' photo actually passed by that part of New York, it was just a separate times. Funch merely went through, found them, and put them altogether to create the illusion that they were all in that place together at the same time. It's fairly simple, which makes it such a great idea.<br /><br />Here's a couple more,<br /><br />Everyone who was wearing black:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://sideways8.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/peter-funch1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 200px;" src="http://sideways8.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/peter-funch1.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br />Everyone who was walking a dog:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.gabemac.com/media/PeterFunch%203.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 185px;" src="http://www.gabemac.com/media/PeterFunch%203.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a>I think it's amazing because the shots are all so beautifully composed since he probably had so many people to choose from. It's like setting up an image of twenty people without having to direct them. New York probably told Jay-Z that he could build an arena right after they get around to that 9/11 memorial. Don't hold your breath, Jigga.<br /><br />Secondly, Birdman's right. New Jersey is a shit hole despite Zach Braff's best efforts.Rory Sylvesterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06741216149609978059noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3421884975111188035.post-36943528365211974502009-09-22T08:36:00.000-07:002009-09-22T08:48:21.147-07:00Muse-ical Chairs<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/zanelowe/muse-thumb-400x315.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 315px;" src="http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/zanelowe/muse-thumb-400x315.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a>This is pretty funny. For whatever reason, there are certain music shows around the world that request artists lip sync their songs when performing. Here is a clip of Muse performing on some European variety show and just to be assholes the lead singer and drummer switched places before 'performing' their single. It becomes pretty obvious as Matt, the lead singer turned drummer, hams it up.<br /><br />Voici:<br /><object width="400" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/DntyWBCeiKA&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/DntyWBCeiKA&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="400" height="344"></embed></object><br /><br />But wait! This isn't the first, or funniest time we've seen this happen. As per usual with rock nowadays, Oasis did it first:<br /><object width="400" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/a1EzpPCjHUk&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/a1EzpPCjHUk&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="400" height="344"></embed></object><br /><br />Sticks his tongue out.Rory Sylvesterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06741216149609978059noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3421884975111188035.post-79186245179571000382009-09-21T10:33:00.000-07:002009-09-21T10:41:53.624-07:00Bill Maher Gets His Way<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.moonbattery.com/archives/billmaher.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 285px;" src="http://www.moonbattery.com/archives/billmaher.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a>Here's a clip from Bill Maher's show in which he takes it upon himself to kick someone out of his audience for screaming lunacies during a live taping.
